lessons learned...

my appreciation for life is at an all time high since the catastrophic events that took place in Virginia...just like all things that have shook our nation, this will without a doubt teach us and change us all in someway. I have been quite busy since returning home from Costa Rica, which was simply amazing. Besides mine and Dan's constant battle to stay in shape (ha!), I have been keeping up with school and learning to play the piano. I have a new found respect for piano players...not that I didn't always know the talent they had, but moving my fingers that way sometimes feels impossible. This past weekend was a lot of fun. My sister was in town and we all went to the Opera (Juilus Caesar) and to the Bodies exhibition. I learned more in the exhibit than I did in all my years in science class. What an amazing thing the body is. A quote written on the wall at the exhibit caught my eye: "Our body is the only thing that we take with us always from birth to the time of our very last breath." How true is that? That's why it is so important to stay healthy. I am thankful for: my beautiful family and all they provide me with, Dan and our relatoinship that is constantly giving me butterflies, my friends, my HEALTH, my puppies, my life...

Hi Katie! I have to agree with everything my mom said. Plus, I hope you don't think we are some stalker family jumping all over your blog the minute you get it up :) We just love Daniel so much and we are so excited to get to know the person he loves to be with. From the sounds of things, you're going to fit right in!
